The degradation of this earth's properties is fast and massive. Majority of the human race is aware of this. Some are in direct action to preserve and conserve this rare earth. Some like this blogger is hesitant to enter the battle but trying to spread the message of 'green'. But most of us are convinced that what ever be the consequences of this 'degradation' we can manage with wealth and new inventions. They think the Science can always lend us a helping hand.
If there is no water take sea water ; convert gas into water; search for water in Mars ....
If there is suffocation due to pollution go for masks; got health affected, take treatment,
If there is congestion of traffic go for elevated expressways or tube trains
If there is space crunch go for houses go for apartments that can have handshake with moon and the stars.
Like these he has got solutions for all problems. Trying to arrest these problems is the need of the hour. For instance as we take vegetables and fruits which are sprayed with oily pesticides more and more diseases afflict us. But doctors and hospitals are there to relieve the pain. We are not ready to go to the root of the issue and prevent the problems.
Some suggestions to come out of this cycle of sickness:
- Returning to the nature
- Embracing simple life style
- Reducing our comforts
- Limiting the population
- Stopping arms race
- Trusting our neighbors
- Taxing the populous countries
All the above points will help save this earth for our future generations. The most crucial point is the population boom.
Britain's population is booming - how many more people can we take?
Politicians appear unconcerned about the immigration-fuelled boom in Britain's population – despite the strain on schools, hospitals and quality of life. Unless we take action, the country will face an environmental nightmare, says Philip Johnston.
Really!
"Alan Johnson, the Home Secretary, said recently that he did not lie awake at night worrying that the population of the United Kingdom might rise to around 70 million, probably in his own lifetime. When Mr Johnson was born, in 1950, there were 50 million people in this country. Today, there are 61 million."
Just a 11 million increase in 64 years.
See the case of India.

India's population in 1951 was 361 million and today it is 1270 million heads. By 2040 India would have surpassed China. The talk of this mad speed of filling this earth with more people can't be called as 'human resource' as all other resources are put to undue strain. These richly populated countries (Indian Sub-continent and China) keep sending millions of their men and women across the globe and cry in their countries as 'brain drain'. Recently one of my relatives returned from an Australia tour who says he came across a Chinese in every five men he encountered.
The most populous nations should have some plans to slow up this lively(?) menace. Or nations around the globe should impose restrictions on these countries' citizens in taking up employment elsewhere.
Go green will lose its sheen if these nations show no willingness to check this population growth. When we were in high schools, the debate 'population growth a boon /a bane ' was a regular one. Today none talks about this vital issue. No nation has got a right to fill her people alone in the basket of earth.
