Kids can make this world greener

Going back to school is an exciting time because everything's new — teachers, fellow students, supplies. However, it's not very green to buy a whole new package of markers when last year's set works just fine. In addition to reusing old supplies, we've got a great list of ways to be as green as can be in the new school year.
  • Ride your bike or walk to school.
  • Use fountain ink pens to avoid more plastic garbage
  • Get admitted to a nearby school - at walking distance or at cycling distance
  • Switch off the lights or fans  in your class room  when not in use
  • Think green before  every purchase and every time
  •  Sow  and if not possible  throw seeds of  fruits or any type of trees that are grown in your area in watery area
  •  Pack not any seed in plastic and dump them in a  garbage  bin
  • If you are interested in gardening and not an inch of space with you join the local municipal gardener and assist him
  • Become a volunteer with any green corps or assist your local forestry department
  • Visit the local vegetable/fruit  market and help them with ideas disposal and gas generation
  • Grow at least a tree before your house with suitable cattle guards/rings
  • Make your home, street and the village green before embarking on wider ventures
  • Use last year's school supplies.
  • Buy a canvas and cardboard binders instead of plastic.
  • Buy recycled paper.
  • Use reusable water bottles instead of plastic.
  • Use a lunch box, not paper bags.
  • Donate last year's clothes instead of throwing them away.
  • Buy online to avoid driving.
  • Buy organic food.
  • Turn your computer off when you're not using it.
  • Decorate your lunchbox.
  • Make your own bookmarks.
  • Organize a clothes swap with your friends.
  • Carpool to sports.
  • Use refillable pens and pencils.
  • Reuse your backpack. Decorate it with cool patches.
