ROADS OR BATTLEFIELDS

WITHOUT A NUCLEAR WAR INDIA LOSES 1,00,000 OF HER PEOPLE EVERY YEAR.

4,97,686 ACCIDENTS OCCURRED ON INDIAN ROADS IN THE YEAR 2011.

Roads are there to take us to our destination. But today our roads are the real battlefields where these mad  machines crush men out of their lives and  maim millions. This is not only a social issue but  purely an environmental  issue too. More machines with more power- definitely there would be more casualties.  India ranks No.1. in terms of number of accidents and casualties for over a decade now. A lakh and more per year. We celebrated that polio has been eradicated from India ( we are grateful  to the people of  America who made us this possible) but more and more physically challenged are added to the society  every day.

In Chennai  city alone the casualty was 1411 in the year 2012.  Almost 3 persons a day. The following table clearly amplifies the fact and the people of the country should do some soul searching to stop this avoidable incidents.

People don't require a degree in ACCIDENTS PREVENTION & FIRST AID to avoid accidents. First they must realize roads are not F1 tracks but mere earth flattened to smoothen our journey. Next they should respect other's lives before loving their lives. However I've prepared 100 tips for road safety which is in Tamil and soon I'd post them too.

See the enormity of the crisis.
