Conservation of Environment in India is not new. Every God and Goddess of India has got a Vahan ( Holy Vehicle) , Holy Thirth ( Temple Tank) and Sthal Viruksh (Temple Tree).
Here we have got a tank or a lake or a river for every temple. Also a thicket ( temple forests) which is considered holy and Holy animal which may be a cow or a bull or an elephant. Also people naturally worship the water, air, earth and the mountains. 'Worshipping' means nothing but showing respect and concern and showering love on the tree or the animal and nothing else.
But the ever increasing population has put lot of strain on the precious resources and the stress is visible on every source we have. It is time that we return to our traditional values of life and help conserve environment.
