Total Forest Cover 697,898 sq. km.  (21.23%)

Area wise, Madhya Pradesh geographical area, Mizoram with 90.38% has has the largest forest cover (77,522 sq km) in the highest forest cover, by Arunachal Pradesh  and Lakshadweep (84.56 percent), Andaman & (67,321 sq km), Chhattisgarh (55,621 sq km), Nicobar Islands (81.36 percent), Maharashtra (50,632 sq km) and Odisha (80.39 percent), Nagaland (78.68 (50,347 sq km). In terms of percentage of percent), Meghalaya (77.08 percent), Manipur (76.10 percent) and Tripura (75.01 percent).
