Swachh Bharat a gimmick: Rahul Gandhi
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign in poll-bound Jharkhand, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday addressed two rallies there slamming the Modi government. He also termed Mr. Modi’s much publicised Swachh Bharat campaign a “marketing gimmick” and asked people “where is acche din?”
While addressing a gathering at Manika in Palamu district, Mr. Gandhi took a dig at Mr. Modi’s cleanliness drive saying the BJP had promised “development but has put a broom in the hands of the people.”

This was the response of the youth icon of the nation and the President-in -waiting for the oldest party of India!
In fact our villages are cleaner than our cities.
Reasons.
- More land space and less people.
- Less purchases and consume more locally produced items
- People go with a bag to make purchases
- Daily pollutants like milk covers and food packets and fast food items are very rare
- For instance a village population of around 1000 has around a maximum of 60-70 two wheelers and mostly no cars
- All bio-degradable waste goes to the compost yard along with cattle dung
- All non- bio degradable items are burnt or sold for recycling
- The area other than built up space is used for gardening and hence polluting materials not tolerated
- Major source of polythene still....
- Oil Saches/Shampoo/lubricant wrappers/biscuit wrappers/ pesticide pocket covers/packaging materials/ fertilizer packet covers
Though they too have started to suffer from the packaging materials sent by the cities, still it is tolerable in villages.
The so called cyber cities are stinking and sinking. Mounds of garbage decorate our city space. On this account India is UGLY... we have to accept. The educated assert that they have got a right to throw the things they do not want in any public place. And they feel cleaning is the job of the corporation workers. What would be wrong if they do not throw garbage on roads? Almost none is willing to listen.
