NEPAL'S BLOOD FESTIVAL: THIRSTY GODS?

Thanks Google Images!

I have high respect for my Nepal friends. Whatever may the cause and demand from the Powerful... we need all these animals for our survival.  Will any seer or a saint come to the rescue of these hapless animals?  Thousands of animals sacrificed to please gods! How noble the Gods must be?

Be Simple!

Image result for gandhi's spectacles

The world is spending its energy in searching for finding alternate sources of energy. Hydro, wind, tide, nuclear solar.... the search is endless. We close our  doors and windows  and switch on fans/AC machines and lights. We build high rise buildings which require to carry us to the respective floors.  Every modern invention and lifestyle competes with one another  in spending more energy. Coal is being exhausted without any goal. Water has become scarce. Our cities are crowded in such a way that we fail to find our own flats without google maps/GPS devices. To clean our houses, to cook our food, to wash our clothes, to trim our hair, to make our stomach burn a few calories .... we need machines which demand energy.

The only area where we all fare well is only in the warfare. The improved arsenals can eliminate more men and women ; kids and the sick with more  and more precision in less and less time gaps.  This bad, mad  hunger for energy must stop. Every activity of us must see its viability without using power.

Tradition can save us

If we can return to our  traditional ways of  shelter  constructions, a good percentage of energy can be saved.

Preparation and consumption of traditional food varieties can help us  save energy.

Our travel travails are tragic. The transport sector swallows much of the crude products and people travel endlessly every day to their work spots. Instead of staying near their workplaces, our men stay far away  and spend their valuable life time  literally on roads.

At least in the country side we can restore  our horse carriages or small carts drawn by bulls or camels.

Avoid building big cities.  In India recently a state has declared its intention of creating many Singapores in it. Meaning High sky-crappers handshaking with clouds. All these at the cost of  fertile green paddy fields.  This is sheer foolishness.  No country was built and had grown just because of their concrete structures. The growth must be seen in the lives of its citizens.

Train the people to be simple

Ours is the land of Gandhism. There are still men in our nation following Gandhiji's principles. W hat is wrong with them? Our  middle class women folk are having a collection of 100 to 300 sarees and kids  too possess  in hundreds. The media cries in chorus about various products and people are tempted and buying things  even when there is no absolute necessity for them. This indulgence must stop. Unless it is absolutely essential we should not buy a new thing.

.....to continue.

Bio Fuel Cars

A biofuel is a fuel that contains energy from geologically recent carbon fixation, such as plants. These fuels are produced from living organisms. Examples of this carbon fixation occur in plants and microalgae. These fuels are made by a biomass conversion (biomass refers to recently living organisms, most often referring to plants or plant-derived materials). This biomass can be converted to convenient energy containing substances in three different ways: thermal conversion, chemical conversion, and biochemical conversion. This biomass conversion can result in fuel in solid, liquid, or gas form. This new biomass can be used for biofuels. Biofuels have increased in popularity because of rising oil prices and the need for energy security.
Bioethanol is an alcohol made by fermentation, mostly from carbohydrates produced in sugar or starch crops such as corn, sugarcane, or sweet sorghum. Cellulosic biomass, derived from non-food sources, such as trees and grasses, is also being developed as a feedstock for ethanol production. Ethanol can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as agasoline additive to increase octane and improve vehicle emissions. Bioethanol is widely used in the USA and in Brazil. Current plant design does not provide for converting the lignin portion of plant raw materials to fuel components by fermentation.
Biodiesel can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as a diesel additive to reduce levels of particulates, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons from diesel-powered vehicles. Biodiesel is produced from oils or fats using transesterificationand is the most common biofuel in Europe.
In 2010, worldwide biofuel production reached 105 billion liters (28 billion gallons US), up 17% from 2009,[1] and biofuels provided 2.7% of the world's fuels for road transport, a contribution largely made up of ethanol and biodiesel.[citation needed] Global ethanol fuelproduction reached 86 billion liters (23 billion gallons US) in 2010, with the United States and Brazil as the world's top producers, accounting together for 90% of global production. The world's largest biodiesel producer is the European Union, accounting for 53% of all biodiesel production in 2010.[1] As of 2011, mandates for blending biofuels exist in 31 countries at the national level and in 29 states or provinces.[2] The International Energy Agency has a goal for biofuels to meet more than a quarter of world demand for transportation fuels by 2050 to reduce dependence on petroleum and coal.

Hydrogen Cars

The car of the future is here today. Of course, you can't buy one yet; but if you live in California you can lease one. It doesn't use gasoline and it doesn't pollute the air. In fact, it produces steam instead of exhaust. So what's the mystery fuel? Hydrogen -- the simplest and most abundant element in the universe. And some people think that in 20 to 30 years, we'll all be driving these hydrogen-powered, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Although hydrogen-powered cars have a science fiction quality to them, the idea isn't really new. Actually, the technology for using hydrogen to generate power has been around since the first part of the 19th century -- that's longer than cars have been around. What's new is that you might actually see a hydrogen-powered car on the road, with steam coming out of its exhaust pipe instead of foul-smelling gases. Several hydrogen cars are now in existence, but most of them are concept cars. These eco-friendly driving machines include the Chevrolet Equinox, the BMW 745h and the one that's currently available for lease in California, the Honda FCX.
What makes a hydrogen car possible is a device called a fuel cell, which converts hydrogen to electricity, giving off only heat and water as byproducts. Because it's non-polluting, hydrogen seems like the ideal fuel for the 21st century. A lot of people in the government and the auto industry are excited about its potential. Hydrogen cars have the potential to be fuel-efficient and offer the hope of eco-friendly, green driving.

Lower Fuel Prices, Higher Fuel Consumption leading to Higher Pollution

job
ONGC India

The October Price of crude for Indian basket is  87.40 dollars and  in November it is  72 dollars. This big reduction  would save an import cost of  40 billion dollars for us.  This great bonanza has thrown open a chance for all developing economies  to consolidate the gains accruing in various sectors. The  OPEC's decision to continue with their daily quota of 30 mbpd is a welcome step.  The reduced rate of fuel would have a cascading effect on the economy especially the goods that need to be transported beyond 100 kms. But the transport sector may not  offer any  fare cut as traditionally  they are making either losses or with  a poor profit margin.  The inflation rate would  remain   manageable. The consumers may be more having money to dispense with for other expenditure. Apart from these positive developments the negative side of this emerging positive story is that the automobile sector would start rolling out more machines on roads. The booming economy with a lower fuel price is going to spur the  sales of  passenger vehicles for sure. Each dollar reduction in Brent Price will end up in more sales. I apprehend the pollution scene  in India which is growing murkier  would turn to the worst as the price glut may end up in more and more users contributing more CO2 into the atmosphere.

P.S.: If the world wants to reduce the conflicts / casualties  by at least 50% the  crude price should be maintained under 40 dollars.
