The Earth is sick of plastic. Convenience has become a hazard. Light weighted things have become a heavy burden. Market economies have killed every thing on Earth at rocket speeds. People buy and buy and buy and keep on buying till they die. My friends in the village had just two dresses- one on the body and the other on the liner. Every day after bath, the previous day's dress (dhoti) would be washed and allowed dry in hot sun. No servants to do one's work.
Today our homes are filled with dresses, electronic, electric and mechanical devices and there is no room to sit and relax. Washing machines, televisions, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, sofas, dining tables, books, dress materials, fitness gadgets....but for man all occupy our home space.
This wailing is just to remind friends to think twice before they open their valet to take currency or plastic cards to make purchases.
" Can I survive without this purchase? "
"Is it absolutely necessary for me?"
"Can't I run my life without this thing?"
