FLOOD RELIEF UPDATES - JAMMU AND KASHMIR

A total of 215 Army Columns are deployed for flood relief operations and 126 relief camps and 80 Medical teams have been deployed. So far approx 31,900 persons have been rescued. In Srinagar 14 columns have been deployed with 42 BAUTs to cover areas of Rajbagh, Jawaharnagar, Ram Bagh, Shivpura, Indira Nagar, Bemina and Tankpura. In Srinagar, so far approx 4,000 persons have been rescued. Shelters have been provided at Noorbagh and BB Cantt.

Army has also pressed into services its aviation assets that including 13 Chetak and 5 ALH. A total of 277 sorties have been flown to induct about 32 Tones of load and 7 medical teams. 71 casualties have been evacuated so far.

Additional resources being sent today including two Engineer Task Forces with 20 BAUTs, 40 OBMs, Life Jackets and Jerricans. In addition approx 30,000 liters of water, 1000 Blankets and emergency rations are being sent.
























Even when their cantonments are flooded like this the PROUD INDIAN ARMY is rendering service to the affected people.

But the Patriotic South Indian Views Paper expressed its inability to appreciate the soldiers as the newsprint in their office had run out of stock.
